Designing packaging that survives the shelf

Three metres, three seconds. How we test packaging in a real shop before it goes into production.

A package has about three seconds to be noticed from about three metres away. Everything else, the story on the back, the finish, the fold, comes after.

Test it where it lives

We print a few and put them on a real shelf next to the competition. Then we walk away and see which one we look at first.

Then the details

Only after it passes the shelf test do we spend time on the finish and the copy.
